When a mother finds herself trapped on a narrow cliffside road at sunset, an ordinary outing transforms into an increasingly terrifying experience. Pursued by an intoxicated man and caught in the aftermath of a devastating accident, she is forced to confront fear, helplessness, and a reality that becomes more uncertain with every passing moment.
Dark, atmospheric, and haunting, Dusk is a suspenseful short story about the fragility of perception and the lingering power of nightmares.
Excerpt:” The truck skidded, and its back-end drifted from left to right, and the front left tire slammed violently into a pothole with just enough force to flip the truck into the air. At the same time, something from behind the truck shot out across the road. To my amazement and its driver, the truck landed upright on all four tires a few feet in front of my stopped car.
The driver and I exchanged the same look of utter shock.
I don’t know what came over me, but I had to know what it was that shot out and landed in the middle of the road.”
